In this video, Tam Dillon introduces the Quarter 2 theme for Critical Mass: Religious Deconstruction and the Movement Toward Healthy Spirituality.
Across the world, many people are re-examining the religious systems they were raised inside. Some are stepping away entirely. Others are rebuilding their faith in new ways. And many are somewhere in between, trying to understand how inherited beliefs shaped their identity, authority, and relationship with the sacred.
This quarter, Critical Mass explores what happens after that rupture. Through conversations across our series — including the Public Education Panel, Healer Roundtables, Professional Practice Series, Talks with the Elders, and This Is How It Works — we’ll be examining topics such as purity culture, spiritual bypassing, feminine spiritual authority, high-control religious environments, and what healthy spirituality can look like when it is grounded in discernment and responsibility.
Rather than reacting against religion or replacing one authority with another, this theme invites careful reflection on how belief systems influence our lives and how spirituality can be lived with maturity, accountability, and clarity.
Alongside the series conversations, Critical Mass will also be sharing educational posts and conversation starters to support thoughtful engagement with these topics throughout the quarter. This video offers an overview of the theme and the conversations ahead.
