In this episode, Tam Dillon explores how patriarchal systems have shaped religion and spiritual authority throughout history. Many religious traditions developed within cultures where power was organised hierarchically, and those same patterns often appeared within spiritual institutions.
Leadership became concentrated, interpretation of sacred teachings was controlled by a small group of authorities, and the divine was frequently described in primarily masculine terms. Over time, these structures influenced how people understood spirituality, authority, and the role of women within faith communities. In many cases, feminine qualities such as intuition, relational wisdom, and embodied experience were pushed to the margins while doctrine, hierarchy, and obedience became central.
As societies begin to question hierarchical systems more broadly, many people are also re-examining the structures of religion and spirituality. This episode explores how the feminine rising is influencing that process and why more people are seeking spiritual paths that are relational, balanced, and less defined by rigid authority.
